Our kitchen plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing guest satisfaction at our growing company. This is a great opportunity to leverage your culinary and leadership skills. We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to join the culinary team at our Tillamook brew pub location.

The Pelican Brewing Company is Oregon's premier brewery & restaurant. We are an internationally recognized award-winning micro-brewery specializing in distinctively American beer and beer cuisine. The Pelican has won numerous medals and awards since opening in 1996.

Your restaurant responsibility.  The Kitchen Manager is responsible for the overall operations for the back of house and kitchen area of a restaurant.  As well as function as head chef and kitchen supervisor, and manage kitchen staff schedules. The Kitchen Manager will be that person who will always know exactly what to do to bring order to chaos and ensure all things are running smoothly.

Leadership.  You will lead and build a collaborative culinary team by developing their skills and actively coaching them.  You are able to motivate and you recognize success.  Your leadership will set the example on how to maintain the highest standards of food preparation and recipe execution.

You have a passion for the hospitality and beer industry.  You have interest in beer cuisine and you have extensive knowledge of pairing great food and beer together.  You are familiar with the industry best practices.  You jump at the opportunity to learn more about the industry and best practices and you are eager to attend industry events and seminars. 

What we CAN’T measure but would love to see.  Your ability to lead the vision and values of Pelican Brewing Company.  Your strong work ethic, your problem solving skills, and your communication skills.  The fact that you work well under pressure and can confidently lead the back of house team in a fun and fast paced, high-volume kitchen.

What we CAN measure and won’t mind seeing.  2-3 years working as a Sous Chef in a busy, fast paced kitchen and a culinary degree.
