The Head of Human Resources is a trusted partner, adviser, and coach to the senior leadership team and is responsible for developing and executing human resources strategy in support of the vision, core values, and overall business plan and strategic direction of Kiwanda Hospitality Group.

Essential Functions

Talent Acquisition:

  • Lead a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy by developing innovative sourcing plans that produce both quality and depth of talent in support of short and long term company wide human capital needs.
  • Design position profiles and interview questions that align and reinforce the company’s vision and core values and produce talent with capabilities that differentiate the company from its competitors.
  • Source, identify, and engage candidates through a variety of cost-effective methods and recruiting tools and resources; leverage and maintain data reports and performance metrics to drive improvements in the recruiting cycle.
  • Deliver a highly personal and differentiated candidate experience through effective communications.
  • Establish and coordinate effective on-boarding processes that support new hire engagement and future performance.

Employee Development, Training, and Succession Planning:

  • Develop meaningful learning programs tailored to business unit objectives to foster employee development, motivation, career growth and mobility.
  • Implement talent review processes to identify key talent aligned to succession planning objectives; create personal development plans to produce a self-renewing stream of KHG leaders.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that reinforce the company’s values and align with financial strategy.
  • Lead, create and implement recognition strategies that facilitate and support talent acquisition and retention.
  • Evaluate and recommend incentive plans to both reward performance and increase business growth.

Culture and Communications:

  • Ensure that the core values of the company are communicated and understood at all levels, providing clarity as to the expected behavior of all employees; continuously monitor the behaviors to encourage high levels of employee engagement.
  • Lead and foster ongoing employee communications including all hands meetings, focus groups, surveys, one on one access, and other innovative strategies to reinforce employees’ alignment to company initiatives.

Organization Design and Accelerating Change

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to continuously assess organization structure to ensure ongoing alignment with evolving business initiatives.
  • Ensure employees understand and embrace change; encourage continuous dialogue and exchange of ideas and suggestions for improvement.

Human Resources and Employee Relations:

  • Develop best practice HR policies and initiatives, as needed, to ensure a high-performing work environment.
  • Coach leaders in employee relations best practices including performance evaluation, progressive improvement plans and employment issues.
  • Develop and maintain employee related databases; prepare and analyze reports needed to carry out HR functions.
  • Ensure implementation of company safety and health programs and related regulatory requirements.
  • Protect the interests of employees and the company by complying with all state and federal labor laws and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

  •  In depth knowledge and experience with human resources best practices, including talent acquisition and retention, compensation, organizational design, employee relations, performance development, culture, and accelerating change, typically gained through 15+ years of increasing responsibility in large multi-national organizations.
  • Bachelor’s, and preferably Master’s degree in Business, Organizational Development, or related discipline.
  • Experience managing and developing high performing HR teams.
  • Strategic mindset with demonstrated ability to translate business and organizational challenges into concrete HR strategies.
  • Successful implementation of people and leadership development plans; accelerating change initiatives.
  • Trusted coach and advisor to leadership partners; able to balance the needs of the business and employees and provide guidance, solutions, challenges, and business acumen.
