The Coffee Shop Supervisor assists the General Manager in managing the daily operations of Stimulus Coffee + Bakery, including the performance management of employees. You will directly supervise staff and act as the manager on duty in the absence of the General Manager. You will assist in training current and new team members regarding proper drink preparation, product knowledge and customer service. And uphold all store policies and rules that have been communicated by the General Manager. In addition, you will oversee the inventory and security of products, services and supplies. At all times provide a favorable image of Stimulus to promote its Core Values and our high standards of friendly, customer service and guest experience.
Leadership. You will oversee and manage all service areas of Stimulus. Directly supervise up to 10 employees each shift, and provide them with coaching, counseling and mentoring regarding operational and procedural issues. Take corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action. You must effectively and positively communicate with a diverse staff and motivate them to work as a team to ensure that food and service meet appropriate standards.
Staff Development. You will develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, and establishing performance expectations for service team by regularly providing coaching and training to baristas on performance expectations.
Coffee Shop Operations. You will open and close Stimulus as required by General Manager. You must ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, company assets and customers.
Daily Responsibilities. You must ensure that all team members are educated on all of our products and FOC initiatives. You fill in for other employees if an emergency ever arises so you must be able to perform all service team functions. As a supervisor your hours will vary depending on business needs but you are expected to work 5 days per week and be available for weekends and holidays.
Food Planning. You are responsible for ensuring consistent quality of food (in corporation with the Bakery Team) and bar drink preparation, presentation and service. Follow all store drink and food recipes and procedures to ensure a consistent high quality product
Food Safety. You are responsible for enforcing all sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of dining areas.
Customer Service. You set the example for outstanding customer service and conduct yourself as the manager during your shift. Work with the management team to ensure all guest have a positive experience and favorable image of Stimulus and our sister “The Inn at Cape Kiwanda”.
